I am, and my name is the Never-ending Rock Star

Through Sprint's EVDO data network, I'm able to listen to streaming internet radio stations that Sprint has put together.  The stations are free to access if you pay for a data plan (I've got a nice $5 option grandfathered in from the inception of mobile internet), so I've been checking them all out.  Sprint used to be partnered with Sirius, offering one free Hits station from the satellite radio provider's lineup.  I guess Sirius and Sprint had a fight though.  Oh well.

Adult Contempo
----------------------

It strikes me that Old Men are making a comeback recently.

I'm listening to their Adult Contempo station, and the first song I come in on is Kenny Rogers and Don Henley singing a duet.  Now it surprised me that, after seeing plastic-man-Kenny on American Idol last year, that Rogers actually sounded pretty good.  Don Henley has still got some good in him too.  Together they didn't sound to great, but the solo parts of the song were pretty good.

Next up was Bob Seger, still singing the same song that's been playing on the radio from him for 20 years.  Oh wait, no, they're saying this is new.

Ah, and then there's some Depeche Mode...

Red Hot Chili Peppers...

Emily thinks that Old Men have got it much easier than women because they can still be considered sexy into their geriatric period.

Next up was the Indie and Alternative station
---------------------

Korn feat. Amy Lee?  What the crap...that's not Indie or alternative.

Stars of Track and Field..Centuries Before Love and War...Movies of Antarctca...good

k-os...Sunday Morning...no good, not impressed by the name

The Classic Crime - Albatross (album) - The Fight...cool name, not very good.  Ripoff of to many other bands

Bayside - The Walking Wounded - Duality...Something like Alien Ant Farm and 311.  I'm liking it and the band name

Villebillies - Self-Titled Album - Rolling stone...Creative name...throwback to Skynard...not great, but OK.  Think I could like some stuff.  Nevermind - they just said I don't ker in their song and tried to Kid Rock white boy rap in the middle of this country rock song.  They're bad.

Today's Top Hits
----------------------

Why is it that all I hear on this station is country?

Dierks Bentley - Long Trip Alone (album) - Long Trip Alone...Pretty good song.  I think I like this guy.

I am, and my name is WikiMaster

This blog is dedicated to the fine, upstanding citizen of the internet that is Wikipedia.  Almost everything that I want to find out more about is found on this excellent encyclopedia.

I think that someone from Founders Hall wrote this article.

I am, and my name is The Mighty PossumNocerous...or the Greatest Post in the World

This blog is about something I really do like: Talk Radio.  My Dad always listened to it when we would take long trip and he would be the only one awake, and sometimes when he wasn't the only one awake (hear groans from the backseat).  I was always a CD/Radio guy through high school and college, but a while back my friend Matt Edin got me hooked on Talk.  Driving back and forth to work, and delivering Pizzas for the Papa at night, it's like having someone to talk to when I'm alone in the car (it's a little safer than being on the cell all the time...)

So how does this all tie into my new identity as the Mighty PossumNocerous?  During my morning commute on Tuesday, I came in on the middle of a rant about roadkill spoken by Keith Larson of Newstalk WBT 1110AM.  He explained how most animals--squirrels, deer, rabbits, etc...--run out of the road; the opossum however, stands like stone, playing dead.  So Mr. Larson postulates that we're all very lucky that the Opossum is not built like a Rhinocerous, because all of our cars would have some very heavy damage done to them.  Then, Keith decided there had to be a name for this destitute demon, and a new creature was christened.  So to all readers, I warn: beware the Mighty PossumNocerous playing dead in the middle of the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BACKGROUND/POWERS/ABILITIES-- Pete Opossum and Fivel Rhino were normal petting zoo inmates, until one day, in a daring escape the whole zoo was freed from captivity.  As fated friends, Pete and Fivel ran through an awful storm to escape the Animal Controller, and hid under a radio tower.  As the winds picked up, both grabbed onto the tower, and at that moment lightning struck, forever entwining the two into the Horned Pink Eyes Pete and Fivel are today!

The Mighty PossumNocerous is part demon, as described in the lost and ancient Covenanted texts known as Bagpipe.  With the strength of the Rhino and Endurance of the Opossum, the beast can deflect any attack, either by car or stick.  It has a pouch, in which many technological gadgets can be stored.  Also, the creature can stop all bodily and brain function to play completely dead, but come back to life moments later.

Like a Dog Returns to Its Vomit

I am, and my name is Super Dog-Vomit Cleaner

This Blog is about the things I do/do not like.  Tonight I do not like Dog-Vomit.  Max (our 6 month old Australian Shepherd/Great Dane mix) decided tonight, just as I was praising him for not jumping up, to throw up a huge nasty pile on the carpet.

It was awfully nasty.  Emily held the Max and tried to avoid his licks while I cleaned up the pile, so that the dog would not do what the Bible says it will (return to its vomit).  I got the spot cleaned up most of the way, and Emily went to check on Jack.  As I turn back into the living room from the kitchen, I notice another smaller, but almost more nasty, pile; on top of that the dog is heaving more.  I try to put a paper towel under him to catch it, but he ran away and threw up in several more places.

To reiterate...I am the Super Dog-Vomit Cleaner, and I hate being this superhero.

If I wanted an extra pair of hands though, I know where to find them...

- We Go On

Some words as we begin...or...I like The Normals

Hello,

This is the same as a post formerly known as Some words before I finish it all.

I don't like to think I'm all that philosophical, so maybe I'll just talk about stuff I like on this forum for my thoughts about me and stuff.

Well, here's a song I like.  It's by a band called The Normals that is absolutely fantastic.  Everyone should definitely have their CD's A Place Where You Belong and Coming To Life.  If you don't, then you're missing out on what I am sure is the some of the most creative music/lyrics to ever come out of Normal, Illinois.  Note the fact of this as you read the lyrics below and begin to cry because you know exactly what he's talking about.  I know I do.

(Wait, did I say I cry?  Nevermind, I weep like a baby at anything remotely touching and emotional.  I cried this morning just looking at my wife.  Wait, that sounded bad.  I love you wifey.)
